Welcome to Crystal Fire Designs
My name is Cami, I am a self representing glass artist and beadmaker. I've been creating glass pieces for over 4 years now, but I have designed jewelry for nearly 7. I originally started designing for myself and a few friends and used only semi precious and precious stones. Then one day in my quest to find the perfect bead for a piece I was designing, I came upon a website for Lampwork beads and I thought they were amazing! I started reading everything I could about how to make these beautiful glass creations. Then I found a beginning beadmakers class at a local college and figured it was fate! After taking the class and learning the basics on how to handle glass and the safety precautions, I immediately went out and bought the start up kit, after a few months, I upgraded to a minor torch (shortly after, upgrading to a midrange) and my wonderful husband took out our rarely used dining-room and built me a full studio!
Other than the initial class, I am a self taught glass artist, I strive to bring you one of a kind wearable and displayable art. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.
All my beads are made by me in my home studio in Ames Iowa. All my work is made with the highest quality Italian and German glass, carefully cleaned, inspected and ready for use. They are properly kiln annealed for strength and durability to ensure life long enjoyment.
All my jewelry is handcrafted by me using the finest Sterling silver, 14K Gold, freshwater pearls, copper, silk , gemstones, and Swarovski crystal, along with my one of a kind handcrafted glass artisan beads. I believe quality is important. Each piece is made exclusively by me with pride and the greatest attention to detail.
